On 15th August 2025, Don Bosco Skill Mission, Bengaluru, came alive with the colors of patriotism as the institution celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with fervor and pride. The campus echoed with the spirit of freedom as students, trainers, and staff gathered not just to honor the nation, but also to reflect on the values of unity, sacrifice, and responsibility that independence represents.
The morning began with a solemn yet uplifting flag hoisting ceremony. Fr. Eugene Florence SDB, Director of Don Bosco Skill Mission, unfurled the Tricolour, symbolizing the dreams and aspirations of millions. The National Anthem followed, sung with such devotion that the very air seemed to vibrate with reverence. It was a reminder that freedom is not only inherited but also preserved through collective responsibility.
Soon after, the stage became a canvas of creativity and passion as students presented a dynamic cultural program. Each performance brought alive the story of India’s resilience and diversity. Traditional and modern dances captured the rhythm of the nation, while soulful patriotic songs stirred emotions of gratitude and pride. A thought-provoking speech by Ms. Faizun from the Cloud Practitioner Batch 4 reminded everyone that the torch of freedom is carried forward by today’s youth, whose choices and actions will shape India’s future. A gripping mime act silently spoke volumes about sacrifice and responsibility, leaving the audience contemplative, while the human pyramid display stood as a striking metaphor for teamwork, trust, and balance—the very foundations of a strong nation.
But the celebration did not end with reflection—it moved seamlessly into joy and laughter with a series of interactive games. The campus rang with cheer as Br. Barnabas and Br. Vinoth hosted fun-filled contests for students. From the thrilling balloon race and balloon fight to the suspenseful water balloon passing challenge, the air was filled with shouts of encouragement and laughter. The pen-in-the-bottle challenge, especially designed for girls, added a playful twist, testing patience, precision, and humor in equal measure.
The day drew to a close with hearts full of pride and faces glowing with joy. More than just a celebration, the event became a living example of what Independence Day truly signifies: remembering the sacrifices of the past, embracing the responsibilities of the present, and building the hopes of the future. At Don Bosco Skill Mission, the 79th Independence Day was not only a tribute to the nation but also a celebration of community, youth, and the unbreakable spirit of India.
