On April 12, 2025, the Food and Beverage Trainees of Don Bosco Skill Mission had the opportunity to attend an engaging and eye-opening online guest session with Mr. Rikesh Kumar Singh, Assistant Restaurant Manager – F&B at Orange County Resorts and Hotels Ltd., Hampi.

The session served as a dynamic bridge between theoretical learning and the practical realities of working in the hospitality industry. Mr. Singh took the trainees through an immersive journey into the daily workings of a luxury resort’s Food and Beverage department, sharing firsthand experiences from one of India’s finest resort chains. From mastering food service etiquette to handling diverse guest needs with finesse, students gained a deeper understanding of the standards and challenges that define excellence in the hospitality sector.

What made the session truly captivating was Mr. Singh’s ability to weave in real-world anecdotes with valuable career guidance. He highlighted the importance of adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic—qualities essential for anyone aspiring to thrive in this demanding yet rewarding field. His insights into the expectations of industry employers gave students a fresh perspective on what it takes to succeed beyond the classroom.

The interaction wasn’t one-sided. Students came forward with thoughtful questions, turning the session into a vibrant exchange of ideas and aspirations. Their curiosity and enthusiasm were met with encouragement, leaving them not just informed, but inspired.
