A combined Christmas Celebration and Farewell Programme for Cloud Practitioner Batch 5 and Guest Service Associate – Food and Beverage Batch 4 was organized with great joy and enthusiasm at Don Bosco Skill Mission. The event brought together trainees, staff members, and management in a spirit of gratitude, reflection, and festive celebration. The programme aimed to celebrate the joy of Christmas while bidding a meaningful farewell to the outgoing batches, marking the successful completion of their training journey.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Shibalin Lyngkhoi, who set the tone for the occasion by extending greetings to all dignitaries, staff, and trainees. This was followed by an experience-sharing session by Sindhoora from Cloud Practitioner Batch 5, who reflected on her learning journey at Don Bosco Skill Mission, highlighting the professional growth, support from trainers, and the values instilled during the training period. Her words resonated with many trainees and inspired the junior batches. The atmosphere then shifted to a musical note with a farewell song performed by the F&B students, expressing gratitude and emotions as they prepared to move forward into the next phase of their careers.
The spiritual essence of Christmas was beautifully conveyed through the Christmas message delivered by Fr. Eugene Florence, Director of Don Bosco Skill Mission, who spoke about the true meaning of Christmas, emphasizing love, humility, service, and togetherness. His message encouraged the trainees to carry these values into their professional and personal lives. This was followed by an experience-sharing session by Valarie Sumer from GSA – F&B Batch 4, who shared her journey of transformation, learning, and confidence-building during the course. Adding to the festive spirit, a Christmas song was rendered by Br. Barnabas Khriam, Centre Head, which filled the place with warmth and joy.
One of the highlights of the programme was the Christmas skit performed by the students, which vividly brought the spirit of Christmas to life. The skit beautifully portrayed themes of joy, giving, and celebration, with special appreciation for Mr. Darshan KB, who played the role of Santa Claus and captivated the audience with his energetic moves and dance performance. The programme then moved to the distribution of farewell gifts to both outgoing batches, Cloud Practitioner Batch 5 and F&B Batch 4. The Best Student Award for Cloud Practitioner Batch 5 was awarded to Ms. Pallavi, and for F&B Batch 4 to Ms. Valarie. The awards and gifts were presented by Fr. Eugene Florence, Director, along with Fr. Briito Francis, Assistant Director, and Br. Barnabas Khriam, Assistant Director and Centre Head, recognizing the dedication and excellence of the trainees.
The celebration concluded on a harmonious note with a Christmas Carol sung in multiple languages, including Tamil, Khasi, Hindi, Kannada, and English, performed collectively by trainees from Cloud Practitioner Batch 5, Batch 6, and F&B. This multilingual carol reflected unity in diversity and the inclusive culture of the institution. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Kirithika from Cloud Practitioner Batch 5, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the management, trainers, organizers, and fellow trainees for making the programme memorable. The event concluded with the cutting of the Christmas cake, symbolizing joy and togetherness, followed by a dinner for all staff and students, bringing the celebration to a warm and satisfying close.
Overall, the Christmas Celebration and Farewell Programme was successfully conducted and served as a meaningful platform to celebrate achievements, strengthen bonds, and bid farewell with gratitude and joy. The event left lasting memories and reinforced the values of unity, appreciation, and festive spirit among all participants.
The programme was efficiently compered by Ms. Pallavi from Cloud Practitioner Batch 6 and Mr. Naveen from the Electric Vehicle (EV) batch, who guided the event smoothly and kept the flow engaging throughout the celebration.
