World Environment Day was observed on 5th June 2025 with enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility at Mother Teresa Hall, followed by a tree plantation activity behind the kitchen area. The theme for this year was #BeatPlasticPollution, focusing on the urgent need to reduce plastic waste and adopt sustainable alternatives.
The program began with a welcome speech by Sneha, who introduced the theme and reminded the audience about the growing threats of plastic pollution. She encouraged everyone to make eco-friendly choices in daily life to contribute to a cleaner and greener planet.
A powerful skit was then performed by the students of the Electric Vehicle (EV) and Food & Beverage (F&B) Batches, highlighting the importance of saving trees. Through their performance, the students showcased the harmful effects of deforestation and the vital role of trees in maintaining environmental balance.
This was followed by a slogan presentation by students, where they shared short, impactful messages on environmental conservation. The slogans were creative and served as a call to action for everyone present.
Next, Madam Niveditha delivered an insightful message focusing on the human relationship with the environment. She emphasized how our actions and responses—whether positive or careless—affect the environment directly. She also spoke about the impact of technology on nature, urging the audience to use innovation responsibly to benefit both people and the planet.
Students then presented an informative PowerPoint presentation, covering key environmental challenges and ways individuals and communities can help protect the Earth. The presentation was engaging and educational, reinforcing the day’s message.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Gowri, who expressed gratitude to all the participants, staff, and organizers for making the event successful and meaningful.
As a practical initiative, students were divided into ten groups and each group was assigned a plant to be planted behind the kitchen, under the supervision of the staff. This activity served as a hands-on experience and a symbolic gesture of commitment to environmental preservation.
The celebration of World Environment Day 2025 not only raised awareness but also inspired students and staff to take tangible steps toward a more sustainable and eco-conscious lifestyle.
