The journey of learning reached a proud milestone at Don Bosco Skill Mission, Bengaluru, on September 25, 2025, as the Guest Service Associate (Food & Beverage) students stepped into a new chapter of their lives during their Graduation Ceremony. The event, held in collaboration with Accenture and Marriott, was more than just a formal farewell—it was a vibrant celebration of growth, inspiration, and the promise of a brighter future in the hospitality industry.

The morning began on a traditional note with the Lighting of the Lamp, a gesture symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and the blessings of wisdom. The hall brimmed with anticipation as dignitaries, trainers, Fathers, and proud students gathered to honor months of dedication and hard work.

Fr. Eugene Florence, Director of Don Bosco Skill Mission, extended a heartfelt welcome, setting the tone for the day with his words of encouragement. This was soon followed by cultural performances—a soulful group song and an energetic dance—by the graduating F&B students. Their talent and enthusiasm reflected not just their training, but the confidence and creativity they had nurtured during their time at DBSM.

The ceremony gained further depth with the voices of the Guests of Honour, who shared insights that resonated far beyond the event itself.

    • Mr. Conrad Colaco, Managing Director at Accenture, urged the students to carry forward a spirit of excellence, reminding them that success comes not just from skills but from sustained commitment.

    • Ms. Lizanne Pinto, Senior Director of HR at Marriott, drew attention to the evolving landscape of hospitality, highlighting leadership opportunities and the vast potential awaiting young professionals.

    • Fr. George Mathew, Executive Director of Don Bosco Tech Society, spoke passionately about values, resilience, and perseverance as the foundation of meaningful careers.

One of the most inspiring segments was the sharing of real-life experiences by alumni. Ms. Cherryl B. Jyrwa and Ms. Elizabeth Masharing, now interning at the prestigious Westin Hyderabad Mindspace Hotel, returned to share their journeys. Their stories offered a glimpse into the world of hospitality beyond the classroom, proving that the training at DBSM truly translates into opportunities that can change lives.

The atmosphere reached its peak during the Certificate Distribution Ceremony—the much-awaited moment when students were recognized as graduates. Each handshake and certificate represented not just achievement, but the faith placed in them by their mentors, families, and industry partners.

As the program drew to a close, Br. Barnabas Khriam, Center Head, delivered the Vote of Thanks, weaving together the gratitude of the institution towards the guests, trainers, and partners whose support made the event possible. The ceremony then moved into a fellowship lunch, giving guests the chance to experience the DBSM center and share moments of joy with the graduates.

The Graduation Day of September 25, 2025, was not simply an ending but a launchpad—an occasion where dreams were rekindled, goals were sharpened, and a new generation of hospitality professionals was celebrated. For the students of Don Bosco Skill Mission, it was a day etched with pride, joy, and the excitement of stepping into a world filled with opportunities waiting to be embraced.
